How to be happy at work

At work, you can be found (almost) every day. It’s nice to be happy in your workplace. But how do you achieve that? Here are some tips.

One of the meanings you can find in the dictionary for the word ‘happy’ is content. Another is prosperous. But how can you be content and prosperous in the place where you work? Whatever you do, make sure to do what suits you as a person.

  1. Discover your passion It’s a bit of a cliché, but find out what your passion is and what you enjoy doing. Try to figure out what work makes your heart beat faster and gives you energy. This way, you’ll start with the right motivation. Of course, you may not know this at all yet. In that case, have a conversation with family, friends, or one of our recruiters. They can certainly provide you with good advice.
  2. Build good relationships with your colleagues Your work itself is important, but your relationship with the people you work with is equally important. Friendly and pleasant colleagues are worth their weight in gold. A good atmosphere can help you perform better at work. Therefore, talk to your colleagues, listen to them, and help them as much as needed.
  3. Learn and grow By taking courses and training, you can continue to develop yourself. By challenging yourself, you stay content and happy. This keeps your perspective on your work enjoyable. If you work at Intro Personeel, take a look at the Intro Academy.
  4. Maintain a good work-life balance When things are going well in your personal life, they often go well at work too. You feel good about yourself, so you can also deliver good work. Therefore, make sure you have a good balance between your work and your personal life. Do fun things with family, friends, or other people. This way, you stay relaxed.
  5. Find a workplace where you are appreciated If something makes you happy, it’s knowing that your work is valued. It boosts your self-confidence when you receive praise from your boss, manager, or colleague. Then you know that you are (happily) in the right place at your workplace.
